CAS-ual Fridays Bold and Beautiful Challenge

I have a CAS Get Well card to share today.  I made this card for this week's CAS-ual Fridays Challenge #45 "The Bold and the Beautiful".  The challenge is to create a Clean And Simple project using pastels and black.

The flower stamp is from Hero Arts, Little Polka Dot Blossom Cling.  I stamped the flower with versa mark on Certainly Celery paper twice and then heat embossed it with white embossing powder.  I cut out and layered the two flowers to give it some extra dimension.  For the flower center I used a 1/2 inch circle cut out of Basic Black paper.  I embossed the black background paper with the Polka Dot embossing folder and finished the image with a strip of scalloped trim in Certainly Celery and an edge trim of So Saffron.  The Get Well Soon Sentiment is from Everyday Sayings by Hero Arts.

Lately I've been needing a lot of Get Well and Thinking of You cards.  I love when I come up with a quick and easy, clean and simple everyday card!

1-2-3 Casual Fridays Challenge

CFC #44

Happy Saturday!!!!  Today is off to a GREAT start ~ it's a gorgeous Sunny day here in Michigan and I've been able to get some crafting done this morning.

Today I'm here to share the Anniversary card I made for this week's CAS-ual Friday challenge.

Supplies:
Stamps:  Cheers to You, Hero Arts Everyday Sayings
Paper:  Basic Black, Very Vanilla, Me & My Big Ideas DP
Ink:  Memento Black
Accessories:  Stickles, Scallop Trim Border Punch, Marvy Giga Scalloped Square Punch, Photo Corner Punch

This week's challenge is a recipe challenge using 3 things:
  1. A Pattern
  2. An Image
  3. A Sentiment
I cut the scalloped square out of the patterned paper and used dimensionals to pop the image up inside the square.  For the banner on the sentiment I used the triangle corner of the photo corner punch.

    Welcome Baby CAS-ual Friday Challenge

This week's challenge at CAS-ual Friday's is to create a baby card!  I just found out last week that I'm going to be an Aunt again so the timing for this theme is PERFECT ♥  The sweet little one won't be here until September but it's never too early to start working on baby projects!

I made this little boat using a 1 3/8 inch circle punched out slightly more than 1/2 way and a 1 inch square cut into 2 triangles and trimmed.  I popped all the boat pieces up with dimensionals.  The Welcome Baby stamp is from the Totally Stampalicious new release FUNNY STROLLERS.  The base of this card is Stampin Up retired Barely Banana that I've been hoarding saving.

    Happy Birthday Cupcake

Today's card is a clean and simple birthday card!

This card is being sent to the Albany Medical Center.  One of my fellow Totally Stampalicious Design team members is collecting birthday cards to give to the hospital where her son was recently treated.  The hospital will be using the cards she sends for the children on the unit that have to spend their birthday in the hospital.  I can't think of a better honor than to bring a smile to a sick child.

I used the layout from this week's Clean&Simple Stamping Sketch.

I added ribbon and used the Party theme for this week's CAS-ual Fridays challenge.

I'm including this in this week's Teapot Tuesday Challenge at Splitcoast Stampers.

    CAS-ual Fridays Ribbon Challenge

If you're looking for the Totally Stampalicious Feburary New Release and Blog Hop you can find it HERE

    CFC #40

I'm here today to share the card I made for this week's CAS-ual Fridays challenge.  The challenge is Party Card with Ribbon.  You can find the challenge HERE!

I am always in need of birthday cards so this challenge was perfect.  In fact my daughter is going to her best friend's birthday party this weekend so as usual I am way early getting the card done - LOL!

    Supplies:
    Stamps:  Big Hugs
    Paper:  Papertrey Ink White
    Ink:  Memento Black, Melon Mambo
Accessories:  Ribbon, Large Pearls, Corner Rounder Punch

I LOVE how easy this was to put together.  I stamped the happy birthday 4 times in black, starting from the bottom and working my way up.  The fifth happy birthday was stamped with melon mambo ink.  The ribbons were adhered and then I added a few large pearls and corner rounded the bottom edges.

I saw this happy birthday sentiment on a few sample cards at Archivers and just had to have it.  I love the clean crisp font and the size is just perfect.  I had a bit of trouble locating the set but finally found it.  The stamp set is called Big Hugs.

I'm also including this in the following challenges:

    You've Got Mail

I'm super EXCITED to share this Clean & Simple card that I made for this week's CAS-ual Fridays Challenge.  The theme for the challenge is Clean and Simple movie inspiration.  I've had a lot of fun coming up with movie ideas for this one.  I finally decided to use "You've Got Mail", the 1998 Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan romantic comedy!

Here's my You've Got Mail inspired card................................

    Supplies:
Paper:  Kraft, Sweet Cakes Hugs & Kisses DP
    Stamps:  Computer Generated Sentiment
Accessories:  Corner Rounder Punch, Small Heart Punch Stampin Up

The sentiment on this card was computer generated using Microsoft Word.  I inserted a text box into my document and typed the sentiment using courier new font at 16 point.  I highlighted and colored the word GOT in red - the entire sentiment is bold.  That's it, easy peasy!

Now, for the ENVELOPE - here's the really COOL part.....Are you READY????  I MADE THAT ENVELOPE - it's not a DIE - I spent a bit of time working on getting the measurements just right.  In case you're interested in making an envelope of your own I'm including a tutorial.  My first ever VIDEO tutorial!!!!

    Mini Envelope Directions:

    1.  Cut to 3 6/16 x 2 3/4
    2.  Score Landscape (wide) at 1 inch on both sides
    3.  Score at 3/4 of an inch on the portrait (long) side
    4.  Cut all 4 corner tabs
    5.  Find the mid point on each landscape tab.  About 1.5 cm
    6.  Draw a diagonal line to each corner from the center on both sides
    7.  Cut the triangles out
    8.  Now you have your envelope template.
    9.  Fold the bottom and two sides and secure with tape
    10.  If you want to make a paper insert for the envelope it measures 1.5 in.  x 1.25 in.

    Clean and Simple Valentine

This week's challenge at Totally Stampalicious is to make a Clean and Simple card.  We want you to keep your layers to just a few.  I'm super excited for this challenge because I've been working on making more CAS cards.

    Supplies:
    Stamps:  Monkey Love, Whimsical Words
Paper:  Kraft, Baja Breezes, In Color Designer Paper
Ink:  Memento Black, Brown & tan Copic Markers, Black Sharpie, Poppy Parade
Accessories:  Corner Rounder Punch, Small Heart Punch, Scallop Trim Border Punch

I used the adorable Monkey Love stamp set from Totally Stampalicious for the image and sentiment.    I fussy cut the cute monkey out using my little Fiskars scissors.  I could use a bit more practice on the fussy cut technique but I do think it looks better against the red background this way.

For the layout, I enlisted the help of this week's CAS-ual Friday's challenge sketch.  You can find the challenge HERE or by clicking on the sketch image below.

I decided it would be fun to decorate the inside of this card too.  Here's a look at the inside......

The sentiment is from a retired Stampin Up Sale-a-Bration set.  It reads You're never more than a Thought away.

    Deepest Sympathy, Black and White

I'm venturing out and joining in on this week's CAS-ual Fridays challenge.  The challenge is to make a project that is only black and white.  I think this is such an elegant color combination!  It would work beautifully for a wedding or anniversary card as well as for this sympathy card I made.

Now that I've worked my way through the online Clean and Simple card making class, I thought I should start challenging myself to participate in some CAS challenges.  What better place to start than with this gorgeous color combination challenge.

Here's my black and white sympathy card:

    Supplies:
    Stamps:  Hero Arts Sentiments
    Paper:  PTI White, Basic Black
    Ink:  Momento Black
Accessories: Beautiful Wings Embosslit Die, Elegant Bouquet Embossing Folder, Basic Pearls Small

This was really simple to put together.  I embossed the base layer with the Elegant Bouquet embossing folder.  Stamped the sentiment on the bottom, attached the butterflies and colored in the centers of the embossed flowers.

Just in case you'd like to play along in the Black & White challenge.....Here's the link to the CAS-ual Fridays challenge blog......
