My Sister, My Best Friend

Supplies:
Stamps:  Best Buds Brats
Paper:  Poppy Parade, Marina Mist, Whisper White, Poppy Parade DP.
Ink: Poppy Parade, Bordering Blue, Blush Blossom, Barely Banana, Summer Sun, Close to Cocoa
Accessories:  Scallop Oval Punch, Large Oval Punch, Small Heart Punch, Butterfly Embosslet, Hearts Embossing Folder, Satin Ribbon, Small Pearl, Paper Piercing Tool, Laughing Cow Cheese Container, Coluzzle, Swiss Dots Embossing Folder, Large Circle Punch, Large Scallop Circle Punch, Whisper White Grossgrain Ribbon, Dove Milk Chocolate Eggs.

This week's challenge at Totally Stampalicious is to make a card for your BFF.  My BFF also happens to be my identical twin sister Judy.  I also made an altered container to go with the BFF card.  I used the Best Buds Brats stamp set from Totally Stampalicious for this gift set.

When my sister and I were little, our Mom always dressed us in matching outfits.  Judy always wore blue and I always wore red.  It only seemed right to color these little Brats girls in the same colors we wore growing up.  I used this week's Sweet Stop Sketch for the layout.  I had to move the sentiment a little  to make it work but I think it still counts!

For the altered container, I started with an empty Laughing Cow Cheese container.  I decorated the edges with grossgrain ribbon.  The top matches the card with Poppy Parade and Marina Mist paper and satin ribbon.  I added a couple butterflies and of course the Best Friends image!  I filled the container with Dove Milk Chocolate eggs - YUMMY!

Thanks for stopping by and checking out my BFF gift set today!  Hopefully you will get a chance to play along with this week's Challenge at Totally Stampalicious!  Click HERE to see all the fabulous cards the design team created to inspire us this week!

Stampalicious Scarlette Promotion!

My first card is Birthday Gus!  This set comes with two different Gus images.  I chose to use Gus in his overalls - the other Gus is equally cute in his bunny slippers and bathrobe.  I paper pieced his hat and balloon to add a little 2D effect - and I covered the balloon in stickles!

Next is Morning Stella!  I thought she looked great with these light, bright, cheerful colors!  She comes with 4 sentiments.  They are all Totally Stella humor - Like this one and "start your day with a smile and get it over with".  Each one is laugh out loud funny!

I used the new Best Friends Brats stamp set for this card.  This set comes with these adorable boy buddies and an equally adorable duo of girls!

This final card was made using the new Present Scarlette stamp set.  This set comes with the Scarlette image and 4 great sentiments.  Perfect for making cards for my girlfriends!

Now it's time to hop on over to Stacy's Blog and see what awesome projects she has in store for us!!

Wine Not? and a Blog Award

It's time for this week's Monday Challenge at Totally Stampalicious!  The challenge is to create a card with your favorite drink.  I chose WINE.  The JJ Cook stamp set was perfect for this theme!  I guess JJ and I have something in common - we both like wine!  I stamped the pot onto Brushed Silver paper and cut it out and pieced it on the image for a 2D effect.  The color combo for this card came right out of my kitchen.  It's kind of like JJ is in my kitchen cooking while she drinks her wine.  CHEERS!!!

I'm also passing along this Cherry on Top award that I received from my very talented friend Emily Leiphart.

To accept this award I need to do a few things:
  1. Thank the person who gave it. Thank you, Emily! You are so sweet and talented I'm always inspired by your blog!

I'm so excited to be the March Guest Designer for Totally Stampalicious!  It's going to be a great month!  What a great honor it is to be working with the talented Totally Stampalicious Design Team!

This week's challenge is to Try A New Technique - something you've never tried before.  I chose to use sewing.  I always admire the gorgeous cards that are made using sewing but I have NEVER been brave enough to try it on paper.  So I pulled my sewing machine out and went to work.  I'm really glad I tried this technique.  It was a challenge for me and now I know that I can do it!  As you can see I still need some practice but I did it and it was FUN!   This card is 5 x 5 square card.

The image and sentiment are from the Attitude Ruby clear rubber stamp set from Totally Stampalicious.

I used the layout from this week's Friday Sketchers Challenge and the color combo from this week's Inkspirations color challenge.

I'm also including this card in the following challenges:

Catch the Bug: Anything Goes
4 Crafty Chicks:  Stitches
Friday Sketchers Challenge:  Sketch Challenge
Inkspirations:  Color Challenge #60 (So Saffron, Wild Wasabi, Rose Red, Whisper White)

New Truck Gus 1-2-3

This week's Totally Stampalicious Challenge is a recipe challenge.  Here's the recipe:

1 - Ribbon
2 - Different Patterns of paper
3 - Embellishments (bling, brads, whatever)

I used the Totally Stampalicious New Truck Gus stamp set for the image and the sentiment.   As you can see my ribbon is minimal but it is there.  The two patterned papers are from my scrap pile.  I used 3 yellow brads for my embelishments.  It's getting late so that's it for today.  Thanks for stopping by and checking out my 1,2,3 Challenge Card!
