Text Me - Two Cards

I hope you're having a fabulous weekend!  I got some time to craft today!  It's always a GREAT day when I get some stamping time :)

I made TWO cards for the current challenge at CAS-ual Fridays - Texting.  I'm super excited about this challenge because I rarely use "texting" in my cards so it's NEW for me and it's fun to try new things.

My first card is a sympathy card.  I had a special request from a co-worker to make a sympathy card so that inspired this theme.

I had this card almost complete and had to run out to Archivers because I didn't have any black embossing powder.  I don't know how that is even possible but I am one LUCKY girl to live less than 5 miles from Archivers :)  I braved the 100 degree heat just to finish this card.  Now that's dedication - LOL.

My second card is an Anniversary card...

Now, I have to admit I'm not totally thrilled with this Anniversary card.  I'm pretty impressed with the red heart in the center of the text.  I used a heart punch and then lined up a heart die to make the heart shaped frame.  I got some new Twinery Twine and I couldn't wait to use it!!!

Thanks for stopping by and checking out my two text themed cards!  I'm off to a family BBQ to spend some time with my Mom before she has to go back to Arizona.  I'm going to miss her so much!!!!

Great job on the text challenge, Julie. Wow! They're both gorgeous cards.

I'm never been to an Archivers and don't even know where the closest one would be. I don't think they are in this part of the country. But, I'm thinking I could have a good time in one. LOL

I'm sure you'll miss your Mom. It is so hard to be a long distance from family.

Hi Julie! I just love the black layering on your first card, and the heart window on the second. Thanks for playing along at CAS-ual Fridays!

Ok, first congrats on 100 followers, that is on my bucket list as well! And although I have that number in TOTAL, there is something about getting them all from google reader that just makes it special.

Second, I love the first card, and I understand what you mean about the second card. the top part is my favorite too, I love the layers and die cuts. maybe an entire row of red hearts? like those dies I see people using that is one long strip of hearts. I don't know though, it's hard to say. I noticed the heart and the colors most.

Third, I plan on totally stealing these ideas. thanks so much for sharing! hehe...

Third,
