F4A18 Challenge - Stampin With Emily

My 8 year old daughter often makes cards with me. Yesterday we were both working on making cards with an ice cream theme for the Splitcoast Stampers Free 4 All Challenge. When she finished her card she asked me to put it on the computer. Here are both our cards!

When I saw the challenge yesterday was ice cream I wished my Stampin' Up order had already arrived. By this time next week I'll have the Sweet Scoop set. This week I had to improvise. So I did an internet search and found this great FREE Digi download here:

Mojo Monday Sketch - Mojo144

I thought it would be fun to do the Mojo Monday Sketch today. I was right. It was FUN. I made this cute cupcake card. I got to use my new Nestabilities for the little tab corner on the image panel. I also liked making the sprinkles in the background of the image panel with Pretty in Pink and Close to Cocoa markers. The cupcake wrapper is made from Berry Bliss DP.

Here are the supplies:

Stamps: Inkadinkado Cupcake Stamp, Stampin' Up All Holidays (HB Stamp)

Paper: Pretty in Pink, Berry Bliss DP, Chocolate Chip, Regal Rose, Whisper White

Ink: Chocolate Chip, Pretty in Pink, Close to Cocoa, White Ink

Accessories: Nestabilities: Labels Four, Chocolate Chip Grosgrain Ribbon, White Gel Pen, Large Rhinestones, Scallop Edge Punch, Polka Dot Embossing Folder.

Tropical Drink Color Challenge

I love this week's Splitcoast Color Challenge color combo! I thought it was perfect for a Banana Daiquiri. I made two versions of this card. The top card is the fancier card. The other one is Clean and Simple. I like them both.

For the top card I used a Fiskers embossing plate. The ledge of the bar was inspired by the the cute ice cream shop card by Lori Heilling in the splitcoast stampers gallery. The red strip at the top is actually the scrap from the eyelet border punch.

I also changed up the orientation on this one. I don't usually make landscape cards that open from the side. I really like it though!

Color Challenge Card - CC274

Today's Color Challenge at Splitcoast Stampers was to use Tempting Turquoise, Cameo Coral and Ruby Red. This was a new color combo for me and I really wasn't sure about it. The cards that were submitted to the challenge all looked really good so I thought I should at least give it a try...there is a reason they call it a challenge. I decided to trust the professional challenge makers and give it a go. In the end I'm happy with the result.

This is the revised version of my color challenge card. My first version was okay, but it felt like it was missing something. I added the bottom edge to the window and changed the scalloped oval paper behind the sentiment from Cameo Coral to Ruby Red.

To add a little fun - I used transparency film to make the window - you can't see it in the picture but it adds a nice element to the actual card.

I did create the image panel and the sentiment in My Digital Studio. I don't have Cameo Coral or Tempting Turquoise ink in my craft room but I do have it on the computer. It seems like every time I make a card I find a way to incorporate the MDS into it.
