Totally Stampalicious Masculine Challenge

Supplies
Stamps:  Hawt Dawg, Sporting
Paper:  Whisper White, Real Red, Kraft, Basic Black
Ink:  Close to Cocoa, Chocolate Chip, Red fine point Sharpie
Accessories:  Small Star Punch, Large Scallop Circle Punch, Large Circle Punch, Wide Oval Punch

I have some exciting news.....I have been invited to be the March Guest Designer for Totally Stampalicious!   I'm thrilled that they asked me to join them and I'm already looking forward to working with their very talented Design Team.

Today's card is for this week's Totally Stampalicious Challenge - to make any kind of Masculine card.  You can find the challenge HERE.  I made this card using the Hawt Dawg Digital Stamp set from Totally Stampalicious and the Stampin Up Sporting digital stamp set from My Digital Studio.  The #1 on Hawt Dawg's jersey was added in MDS.  The sentiment is also from the Sporting SU digital set!

This card is for my Godson's 11th birthday.  I let him pick out his favorite character from the Totally Stampalicious digital sets and he picked this one!  I love that I can just pick out the stamp set, download it and use it right away!

Thanks for stopping by and checking out my card today!

Our 11th Wedding Anniversary and A Sketch

Today my husband and I celebrate our 11th Wedding Anniversary.  As a person who makes cards, this occasion is always a bit of a challenge for me.  How can I express my love for my husband through a card?  Well I usually spend hours working on it and end up feeling like it came out okay.  This year I did spend hours on the card but I think it came out really nice.    Here is the card I made for my husband....

Since my DH is not much for a fussy card I wanted to create something on the clean & simple side and I wanted it to be elegant.  So I enlisted the help of this week's Clean & Simple Stamping FTL112 sketch.  I really like the sketch.  It called for a square card but I really thought it looked good as 5.5 x 4.25 card.  I used Stampin Up's My Digital Studio for the sentiment and the heart.  There are exactly 11 pearls under the Happy Anniversary Sentiment.  What this card doesn't say is the music represents all the love songs that remind me of him and us.  This week my favorite is Smile by Uncle Kracker.  Scott you make me SMILE!

Inspiration Challenge - IC240

What an exciting day...I got to ink some new stamps! I just got the Sweet Scoops set from Stampin' Up this week and couldn't wait to use it!

I created today's card for a Splitcoast inspiration challenge. I used this piece from the Blue Carrot Shop as my inspiration:

Party Nut Tin

I love that they have so many great challenges at Splitcoast Stampers. The challenges are a great way for me to try new techniques and find new inspiration.

I created the Happy Birthday sentiment in My Digital Studio alternating the color on every other letter to mimic the effect in my inspiration piece. It's no secret that I LOVE MDS. I use it in almost every card I make. I love to combine the computer created objects with the ink and paper.

I used dazzeling diamonds on the scoops to make them sparkle.
The awning was scored and then the score lines were inked with the SU Creamy Carmel marker. It's all tied together with a satin ribbon!

Color Challenge CC278

Today's Color Challenge is Baja Breezes, Rich Razzleberry, So Saffron. The dessert option (or cherry on top) was to use grid in the card.

I started out with a very vanilla base. For the background I used So Saffron with a layer of Very vanilla that I ran through the fiskers lined plate twice to create a subtle grid pattern. Since I didn't have any Baja Breezes paper I printed out some DP from the My Digital Studio {LOVE, LOVE, LOVE that program}. I used the grid paper in Baja Breezes.

I made the flower with the scallop circle punch. I punched out 3 flowers, cut the petals and layered them with tape. I popped the center 1 inch baja grid circle with a dimensional. The sentiment was printed out from MDS.

Color Challenge Card - CC274

Today's Color Challenge at Splitcoast Stampers was to use Tempting Turquoise, Cameo Coral and Ruby Red. This was a new color combo for me and I really wasn't sure about it. The cards that were submitted to the challenge all looked really good so I thought I should at least give it a try...there is a reason they call it a challenge. I decided to trust the professional challenge makers and give it a go. In the end I'm happy with the result.

This is the revised version of my color challenge card. My first version was okay, but it felt like it was missing something. I added the bottom edge to the window and changed the scalloped oval paper behind the sentiment from Cameo Coral to Ruby Red.

To add a little fun - I used transparency film to make the window - you can't see it in the picture but it adds a nice element to the actual card.

I did create the image panel and the sentiment in My Digital Studio. I don't have Cameo Coral or Tempting Turquoise ink in my craft room but I do have it on the computer. It seems like every time I make a card I find a way to incorporate the MDS into it.

Feeling Sketchy Lately - SFYTT Sketch 6/5/2010

This anniversary card is for the SFYTT (Sketch for you to try) challenge from I{heart}2stamp . It is also for my sister's wedding anniversary. I was the maid of honor in her wedding 15 years ago.

I've been trying to do more sketches lately to try some different layouts. When I came across the i{heart}2Stamp challenge from a post on Splitcoast Stampers I knew I had to try this one. I was sold on trying it when I saw that it was a SQUARE card. I very rarely make square cards. I am so happy that I tried the sketch. It was a really fun card to make.

The background DP is from Archivers. I sponged pretty in pink to give it a softer look. The Two hearts in the image panel were created on my digital studio. The top heart is slightly smaller than the one behind it. The background heart is done in close to cocoa and the one in the foreground is done in regal rose. The flower embelishment is also from Archivers.

The sentiment is computer generated in Regal Rose. This entire card ties into the recipient's wedding song - Endless Love. I wanted to incorporate something from their wedding day into the card and I think the two hearts sentiment with the two hearts in the image panel combine perfectly to tell their story!

I really enjoyed making a square card and using the SFYTT sketch. Thanks for checking out my Blog!

Here is my February swap card. I'm really happy with how this one turned out. The theme is sympathy. I used Stampin Up My Digital Studio for the image panel. Here are the materials I used: Cardstock - Basic Black, Whisper White, Sage Shadow. Ink Basic Black and Sage Shadow.

It's very unusual for me to have anything photo worthy on the inside of my cards. This is an exception. I used the sentiment from Stampin Up's Thoughts and Prayers set but I typed it out in MDS so I could match the font to the front of the card.

Christmas Swap Card - Digital Hybrid

The previous post showed the card I designed on the computer with the My Digital Studio software. This is the card I actually made for the card swap. I printed out all the card elements and then put the cards together.

Digital Christmas Card

My November card making club meets in less than 2 weeks. I decided to get started designing my card for the swap. Once I get the card the way I like it then I'll make 8 cards to share with the other ladies in the swap. I designed this card using the My Digital Studio software from Stampin Up. My next step will be to print out some of the images and make it into a hybrid card. I'll post a picture of the finished version once I have it done. This is how it looks for now. I'm not sure I have enough Old Olive cardstock to make 8 cards so I may end up tweaking the color scheme. Thanks for looking!

MDS (My Digital Studio) Card - You're on My Mind

I am really loving MDS! I made this card for my Mom who has been on my mind a lot lately. I emailed the card to her so it is officially my first homemade e-card.

I used the Upsy Daisy and Always stamps in MDS. Thanks for looking!

MDS (My Digital Studio) Card

It's been a little over a week since I got the MDS (My Digital Studio) software from Stampin' Up. I have used digital scrapbook software before but this new software takes my creativity to a new level. I really LOVE MDS and I am very excited about the endless possibilities of projects I can make with all of my new digital stamps, papers, and embelishments. An added bonus is that this is better for the environment too.

Now that I'm done gushing about how cool MDS is I'll tell you about my card. This card is a total CASE from the current SU catalog. I wanted to practice using MDS and not have to think too much about designing an actual card. I used the Happy B-day Simply Scrappin pack and the scallop square digital punch.

For my next project I'm going to figure out how to make my blog background using MDS!
