Happy 10th Birthday Emily

Today is my daughter's 10th Birthday!  Here's the card I made for her.  She is really into orange and yellow lately so I made the card to match her favorite colors.

This card measures 4.25 in x 6 in to allow for 3 flowers.  The flower is Hero Arts (Little Polka Dots Blossom Cling).  I stamped the flowers on So Saffron with versamark ink and then heat embossed with white embossing powder.  The flower centers are 1/2 inch circles punched from groovy guava.  I added some crystal effects and glitter to them.  Then I finished it with some glitter glue on each of the scallops.  The sentiment is from the Big Hugs stamp set, also by Hero Arts.

Thanks for stopping by and checking out my card today!  I'm off to have a Birthday Funday with my birthday girl!!!!!

ETA:  In all my excitement yesterday from my daughter's birthday I forgot to link this to the A Blog Named Hero Play Favorites Challenge.  This week is the first challenge.  You can find the details HEREI just started using Hero Arts stamps this year but I already have some favorites.

This week's challenge at Totally Stampalicious is BLING.  I added a lot of bling (stickles) to this but still kept it appropriate for a boy.

The layout is from this week's sketch challenge at SCS and the fabulous color combo is from this week's Colour Q Challenge cQc #72.  I really loved working with these colors!!!

Wishing for a Bubble Bath

This week's Totally Stampalicious Challenge is a color challenge - Pink & RedI used this week's Card Patterns Sketch 99 for the layout.  This was actually a really quick card to put together.  The image is Scarlette Bubble Bath.

This card was inspired by my sweet daughter Emily.  She will be taking bubble baths for the next 3 weeks because she fractured her left wrist (she fell at the Bounce House).  Her cast is hot pink so it really fits with this week's color challenge.  When she found out that she would have to take baths instead of showers she was not at all happy.  Once she got in the tub full of bubbles she decided maybe this bath thing wasn't so bad.  We're going to be doing some extra pampering at our house over the next couple of weeks!

Supplies
Stamps:  Scarlette Bubble Bath (Bugaboo & Totally Stampalicious) , Big Bold Birthday (SU)
Paper:  Pretty in Pink, Real Red, Pretty in Pink DP
Ink:  Pretty in Pink, Crumb Cake, Blush Blossom, Real Red, Black Staz-On
Accessories:  Pearls, Word Window Punch, Eyelet Border Punch, Large Circle Punch, Large Scallop Circle Punch, SU Pretty in Pink Ribbon, Gel Pen, Stickles

SCS Featured Stamper - Emily Leiphart

When I found out that today's Featured Stamper at Splitcoast Stampers was my Blogger friend Emily I just had to play along!  Emily's Blog Art from the Heart  is one of my favorite places to visit for inspiration!

Here is my card inspired  by Emily's Hello Birdie card.....

I used the Stampin Up Cheers to You set for this one.  I always admire Emily's ability to make a clean and simple card that has the perfect balance.

Congratulations to Emily for being chosen as today's featured stamper!

Thanks for checking out my Featured Stamper inspired card!

Celebrating Your Birthday Cupcake!

For my first post of 2011 I made this birthday card for a good friend.  I used the theme from this week's Totally Stampalicious Challenge - Cupcake Card and this week's Stampin B's Challenge  Celebration.

I used the Totally Stampalicious Cupcake JJ  set for the image and sentiment.

One of my "goals" for this New Year is to make cards BEFORE I need them.  This counts ~ right?  I don't officially need it until Thursday!  Yay Me!  (said in my best London Tipton voice for those of you that watch Disney Channel)

Thanks for stopping by and checking out my card!

A Clean and Simple Birthday from JJ

This week's challenge at Totally Stampalicious is to make a Clean and Simple card!  I thought it was a perfect challenge for this busy time of year.  I used the CAS Sketch challenge from SCS for the layout.  I also did some sponging on the image panel for today's Technique Lover's Challenge.

I think JJ looks really good against an argyle background don't you?  She's such a preppy girl today!  I used the Totally Stampalicious new clear rubber release Cupcake JJ.

Now I'm off to get some work done!  Have a GREAT Day!

Thanks for checking out my card!

Get Your Motor Running...

This week's challenge theme at Totally Stampalicious is Anything Goes.  The timing could not be more perfect because I had to make a birthday card for my husband.  The entire time I worked on this card the song "Born to Be Wild" was running through my head.  Here is the card I made.

Since my DH loves motorcycles I decided the Road Hawg! stamp from Totally Stampalicious would be perfect for him.  I created the sentiment for this one in PowerPoint.  I saw this sentiment on Splitcoast Stampers a couple years ago and thought it was hilarious.

I made the little smoke coming from the tailpipe with my SU Going Grey marker.  It's hard to tell from the picture but the real red panel is embossed with squiggly lines.

I hope you have a GREAT Day!  Thanks for checking out my card!

Three Challenges in One Card

I made this card for my nephew's 13th birthday.  This was a challenge for me because.......HELLO he's a 13 year old boy.  I know for a fact he loves skateboarding like I love card making so I decided to make him a skateboard card.  I tried my best to make a "cool" card.  In the end I think it's okay at best.  The only reason I'm posting it is that it was for 2 challenges this week so add the challenge of making a card you have 3 challenges in one card.

The skateboard digi was a free coloring book page that I found online here.  I printed it out three times, colored it, and taped it to my white circle.  I used a grey marker to outline the skateboards.

I used this week's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge for the layout and the color combo is from this week's Just Us Girls Color Challenge.

Thanks for stopping by and checking out my card!

Big Red Bow Challenge

This week's challenge over at Totally Stampalicious is to use a Big Red Bow.  They also announced that they are looking for new guest designers.  How cool is that?  All you have to do to be considered for the guest design team is participate in their weekly challenges.  I just couldn't resist playing along!  Here is my card:

I've been wanting to make a card with my Stella Fireman Call Stamp and thought this was the perfect time.  I think red is Stella's color!  I am sure she loves the red bow I stuck on top of her party hat too!  Picking the color combo for this one couldn't have been easier.  What goes better with Firemen than Red, Black, & Silver?  I enlisted the help of this week's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge SSSC91 for the layout.

Here's a look at the inside of the card:

Supplies:
Stamps:
  Stella Fireman Call
Paper:  Basic Black, Real Red, Whisper White, Brushed Silver

Inspiration Challenge - IC240

What an exciting day...I got to ink some new stamps! I just got the Sweet Scoops set from Stampin' Up this week and couldn't wait to use it!

I created today's card for a Splitcoast inspiration challenge. I used this piece from the Blue Carrot Shop as my inspiration:

Party Nut Tin

I love that they have so many great challenges at Splitcoast Stampers. The challenges are a great way for me to try new techniques and find new inspiration.

I created the Happy Birthday sentiment in My Digital Studio alternating the color on every other letter to mimic the effect in my inspiration piece. It's no secret that I LOVE MDS. I use it in almost every card I make. I love to combine the computer created objects with the ink and paper.

I used dazzeling diamonds on the scoops to make them sparkle.
The awning was scored and then the score lines were inked with the SU Creamy Carmel marker. It's all tied together with a satin ribbon!

Color Challenge CC278

Today's Color Challenge is Baja Breezes, Rich Razzleberry, So Saffron. The dessert option (or cherry on top) was to use grid in the card.

I started out with a very vanilla base. For the background I used So Saffron with a layer of Very vanilla that I ran through the fiskers lined plate twice to create a subtle grid pattern. Since I didn't have any Baja Breezes paper I printed out some DP from the My Digital Studio {LOVE, LOVE, LOVE that program}. I used the grid paper in Baja Breezes.

I made the flower with the scallop circle punch. I punched out 3 flowers, cut the petals and layered them with tape. I popped the center 1 inch baja grid circle with a dimensional. The sentiment was printed out from MDS.

WT277, F4A19, Happy Birthday USA

Here is my card for this weeks Free 4 All Challenge (Use Gold Stars) and Ways To Use it (4th of July Card w/out Red, White, or Blue)

This card is pretty basic, and that is exactly what I like about it. Sometimes I get caught up in making cards with lots of layers and techniques. This card is refreshingly simple (IMO).

Thanks for taking the time to check this one out! Have a Happy 4th of July or Canada Day for my neighbors to the North!

F4A18 Challenge - Stampin With Emily

My 8 year old daughter often makes cards with me. Yesterday we were both working on making cards with an ice cream theme for the Splitcoast Stampers Free 4 All Challenge. When she finished her card she asked me to put it on the computer. Here are both our cards!

When I saw the challenge yesterday was ice cream I wished my Stampin' Up order had already arrived. By this time next week I'll have the Sweet Scoop set. This week I had to improvise. So I did an internet search and found this great FREE Digi download here:

Tropical Drink Color Challenge

I love this week's Splitcoast Color Challenge color combo! I thought it was perfect for a Banana Daiquiri. I made two versions of this card. The top card is the fancier card. The other one is Clean and Simple. I like them both.

For the top card I used a Fiskers embossing plate. The ledge of the bar was inspired by the the cute ice cream shop card by Lori Heilling in the splitcoast stampers gallery. The red strip at the top is actually the scrap from the eyelet border punch.

I also changed up the orientation on this one. I don't usually make landscape cards that open from the side. I really like it though!

MDS (My Digital Studio) Card

It's been a little over a week since I got the MDS (My Digital Studio) software from Stampin' Up. I have used digital scrapbook software before but this new software takes my creativity to a new level. I really LOVE MDS and I am very excited about the endless possibilities of projects I can make with all of my new digital stamps, papers, and embelishments. An added bonus is that this is better for the environment too.

Now that I'm done gushing about how cool MDS is I'll tell you about my card. This card is a total CASE from the current SU catalog. I wanted to practice using MDS and not have to think too much about designing an actual card. I used the Happy B-day Simply Scrappin pack and the scallop square digital punch.

For my next project I'm going to figure out how to make my blog background using MDS!

Thanks for looking!

Fabulous 40th Birthday

I used the dress pattern from the Split Coast Stampers forum to make this Fabulous 40th birthday card for one of my very best friends!

The tank top is in Shimmery White SU paper. I used the Happy Birthday from Birthday Whimsy. Don't know if you can see the flower background stamped in Black on Black is from Seeing Spots.

Inside it says "40 Never Looked So Fabulous"

Thanks for looking and HAPPY 40th Birthday Elaine.....You Look Fabulous!!!!!
