You Light Up My Life

CFC #46

I'm getting this CAS-ual Fridays challenge card in just under the wire.  This week's challenge is to create a card that was inspired by a song.  My card was inspired by Debby Boone's You Light Up My Life.

My thought here was to create the lamp base with the title of the song.  I typed the title in Microsoft Word and printed it out on PTI White cardstock.  Then I masked around the sentiment and sponged with yellow ink.  The lamp shade was pretty easy to make with my scallop trim border punch and a ruler to mark the angle for the cut so it would be even on both sides.  I added just a touch of bling with a few pearls.  Finally, I matted the image on a So Saffron base with a Basic Black frame.

This song was popular when I was 7 years old.  I remember that summer I would sing this song over and over again using a hollowed out fence post in my back yard to project my voice.  I'm sure the entire neighborhood appreciated my rendition of this song - LOL.

Here's the song.....

Thanks for stopping by and checking out my Music inspired card!
